An arborist by definition is an individual who is trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. ISA arborist certification is a nongovernmental, voluntary process by which individuals can document their base of knowledge. Certified Arborists are individuals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through experience and by passing a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation's leading experts on tree care.

Through research, technology, and education, the International Society of Arboriculture promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.
Western Chapter ISA, Member
The Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture was formed in 1934. It is a nonprofit corporation comprised of over 4,000 persons in Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada engaged or interested in the practice of arboriculture.
Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), Member
Established in 1938, the Tree Care Industry Association is a trade association of more than 2,000 commercial tree care firms and affiliated companies. TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for arboriculture firms around the world.
Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
TCIA’s Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) program is the only safety credentialing program in the industry and is designed to address several of the safety challenges that tree care companies face. Trees 'N Things is proud to be CTSP certified.
